Charlotte Finnigan M.A., PhD Candidate (She/her)

At West London Psychology, my time is dedicated to working with children and adolescents in individual therapy, as well as providing parent consultation. As a psychology resident, I work under the supervision of Dr. Carey Anne DeOliveira and Dr. Karin Gleason.

My professional experience includes the school board, community clinics, and private practice, where I have provided intervention, assessment, consultation, and peer supervision services. My approach integrates various evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioural approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotion-focused models to support the unique goals and needs of each client and family.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to the success of therapy. My approach is client-centered, strength-based, and compassionate.  From an open, curious, and non-judgmental stance, I work with clients and their families to support them in achieving their therapeutic goals. I also recognize the importance of relationships beyond the therapy room and take a holistic approach that considers clients’ support systems, including families, schools, and communities.

I am currently a PhD Candidate in the School and Applied Child Psychology program at Western University, where I also earned my Master’s degree in counselling psychology in 2020. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a Limited Duties Professor in the Counselling Psychology program at Western University, where I enjoy mentoring and supporting the next generation of therapists in developing their clinical skills.
