Charlotte Finnigan M.A., PhD Candidate (She/her)
I am a PhD Candidate in the School and Applied Child Psychology program at Western University, where I also earned my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology in 2020.
My professional experience spans various settings, including school boards, community clinics, and private practices, where I have provided intervention, assessment, and consultation services. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a Limited Duties Professor in the Counselling Psychology program at Western University.
At West London Psychology, under the supervision of Dr. Carey Anne DeOliveira and Dr. Karin Gleason, I offer intervention and consultation services for children, adolescents, and parents. My areas of focus include:
- Anxiety
- Depression/Low mood
- Behavioral and emotional regulation
- Neurodevelopmental difficulties (e.g., ADHD/Executive functioning)
- Parenting challenges
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to the success of therapy. I strive to create a space where my clients feel heard and empowered, utilizing a person-centered, strengths-based, and compassionate approach. My passion for learning informs my clinical practice, and I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioural approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotion-focused models to support the unique goals and needs of each client.
